Here’s where the magic happened, in Erwin, TN …

First cut

That’s as short as she could stand to go the first time around. She may go shorter in the future, but this will keep the sweat from pooling in the tight bun she has had the past couple weeks. Pig tails will look good on her, no?

AH! Your beautiful locks! I’m so sorry, but it is indeed a wise and well-calculated decision. I think it looks great, but I know you like it long!!! Love you, sister!!!

I’m glad I cut it all off when I’m hiking, but whenever we are in town and I’m showered and in clean clothes, I wish I had my long hair back. :( Oh well, it will grow back.

Looks great! Totally think you should consider a pixie. It is shocking how much cooler short-short hair is than long hair pulled up. :) Check out Nikki’s profile picks from a while back. Her pixie was fabu! 😀

I like it! Not sure what a pixie looks like, but remember John looks pretty good shaved.
Maybe you should shave it. You’re not going going anywhere formal and I’m betting it will keep you a LOT cooler! PRESS ON!!

You are pretty brave walking into a barber shop in the deep South named “Red’s Barber Shop”. I had a dear great-uncle named Red. His actual name was Elmer (now you can see why he went by Red). He always had a military style brush-cut hair style – if you can call it that. It looks like you fared a little better! It looks like you both are having a lot of fun!

You have no idea Rob! The barber’s hands were shaking the entire time. I’m lucky I have my ears!
